Muhammad Zayyanul Afwani

Zayyan is a dedicated GIS Research Analyst at World Resources Institute (WRI) Indonesia, applying his expertise in spatial analysis and modelling to environmental challenges.  He possesses experience in conservation planning, nature-based solutions, and in-depth biodiversity analysis, particularly in relation to climate change mitigation strategies.

Since graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Geography from Universitas Gadjah Mada in 2019, Zayyan has championed the use of technology for environmental protection. Prior to joining WRI Indonesia, his experience at ESRI Indonesia ignited his passion for harnessing GIS and Artificial Intelligence to optimize conservation efforts. A strong advocate for youth empowerment, Zayyan believes the youth generation hold immense potential to leverage technology and make a significant impact on sustainable development.
